(500) Days of Summer [OST]

It's : a Soundtrack
Genre : Various
When : 2009

Who : Michael Danna & Rob Simonsen; Regina Spektor; The Smiths; Black Lips; Doves; Hall & Oates; The Temper Trap; Carla Bruni; Feist; Simon & Garfunkel; Wolfmother; Mumm-Ra; Meaghan Smith; She & Him

Catching Point : The Movie is more like a pseudo "love stories" that aren't really love stories at all. And the music nicely represent the atmosfer. There are so many good musics in this album. Most of them swim in indiepop area, but some raise an alternative. Almost each of 'em are unique and hold a visceral emotions. Finding middle ground between uber-indie pretension and sing-a-long pop epiphanies the soundtrack has a little bit here for everyone and never drowns in its own self importance. The movie itself carries some music that are not included in the album such as The Pixies - Here Comes Your Man (sang by Thomas in the karaoke bar scene). But overall it's a must have album for you who is fallin to indie, whether you watch the movie or not :)

Juno [OST]

It's : a Soundtrack
Genre :
Indiepop/Various

When : 2007
Who :
Barry Louis Polisar; Kimya Dawson; Buddy Holly; The Kinks; Mateo Messina; Sonic Youth; Belle & Sebastian; Mott The Hoople; Cat Power; The Velvet Underground; The Moldy Peaches; Antsy Pants; Michael Cera & Ellen Page (Cast)

Catching Point : Nothing much to say as the music is resembling the movie itself. Each performers bring out al the movie indie ambiance. Telling much about love and responsibility, this album capture both the post-cool vibes of the film and the deeper emotional rivers running softly below the surface. The music truly fits the quirkiness of Juno to a glove.
